Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was built back in 1876, and it’s undoubtedly the chicest and stylish pool hotel in all of Bangkok. It’s located right on the river and as such it offers some truly spectacular sight from the balconies at night. It has a hotel shuttle boat service which can take you to BTS Saphan Taksin anytime, from which you can be connected to the rest of the city. This hotel manages to be perfectly modern and contemporary while retaining traditionally Thai aesthetic marks that keep it unique to the flavor of Bangkok. The best aspect of this hotel is undoubtedly its spa. It’s not even located on the hotel premises though. You have to take the hotel boat shuttle service to cross the river and reach the spa, hidden inside an authentic teak-wood Thai villa. There are 15 spacious and sun-swept treatment rooms in the Spa, and they’re spread out across four floors. Some of the treatment rooms even feature vast bathtubs. They offer a number of relaxing and therapeutic treatments, including Ayurvedic, Aromatherapy, body massages, and facial treatments. The Peninsula Bangkok is located west of Chao Praya, closer to the historic sites than it is to the nightlife and shopping districts.
